Kings Seeds (NZ) Ltd is a mail order seed company supplying New Zealand gardeners since 1978. Live Locally, In Store Pick Up Available.
No matter how big or small, we supply everyone from large commercial operations providing salad greens to supermarkets right through to home gardeners just wanting to try a new variety of heirloom seed
We offer the weird and wonderful as well as old favorites and our range of organically certified seed, seeds for sprouting; green manure crops and wildflower blends are becoming increasingly popular.
We keep the seed range fresh by adopting an “out with the old and in with the new” approach maintaining a total of around 1000 varieties and have a challenge to find exciting new additions every year.
Kings Seeds is a proudly New Zealand-owned family business led by Charlotte and Rob Connoley. Since Ross King founded the company in 1978, and through the stewardship of Gerard and Barbara Martin, its core purpose has remained the same: making growing from seed accessible to everyone.
For generations, Kings Seeds has been part of New Zealand’s gardening and growing culture. As the business approaches its 50-year milestone in 2028, Charlotte and Rob are honoured to continue this legacy as third-generation custodians.
Remaining locally owned and operated is central to who we are. We value keeping knowledge, decision-making, and investment in New Zealand while supporting growers, gardeners, and communities across the country.
Kings Seeds works with trusted family-owned seed producers in New Zealand and around the world to offer a diverse range of modern and heirloom varieties. We are proud to be New Zealand’s largest supplier of certified organic seed.
With more than 25 years in the seed industry and a strong record of leadership, Charlotte remains committed to building on the vision established in 1978: helping more people enjoy the rewards of growing from seed.
