Katikati Men's Shed: More Than a Workshop, It's a Place to Belong

There comes a time when many men find themselves looking for something more. Maybe you've retired, moved to a new area, lost touch with old mates, or simply want to get out of the house and do something meaningful. That's where the Katikati MenzShed comes in.

At Katikati MenzShed, it's not just about tools, timber, or projects. It's about friendship, purpose, and being part of a community. Every week, local men come together to share skills, learn new ones, lend a hand, and enjoy good conversation over a cup of tea.

You don't have to be an expert carpenter, engineer, or handyman. Some members arrive with decades of experience, while others simply want to learn, meet new people, and keep active. Everyone is welcome, and everyone has something valuable to contribute.

The Shed is a place where practical projects become opportunities for connection. Whether you're building something useful, repairing community items, teaching a skill, or learning one yourself, you'll find a sense of achievement and camaraderie that is hard to match.

Many members say they joined for the workshop but stayed for the friendships. The laughter, support, shared stories, and sense of belonging are what truly make the Katikati MenzShed special.

New members are always welcome.

Normal open times. 09.00 – 13.00 (9am – 1pm) Monday, Thursday and Saturday, men only.

Community days: On Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Hours will be the same.  By prior booking, associate members (the ladies) welcome to come and use the tools to learn to, or if they have the skills, make their own projects.  These sessions will be under the supervision of one of our Shed supervisors.  Times often extend into the afternoon with six to twelve members present to enjoy fellowship and share activities.
