A spectacular new community event is set to arrive in Katikati this November, bringing with it an evening of family entertainment, delicious food, community connection and a fireworks display that will light up the Western Bay skies.

Spark in the Park, proudly brought to you by Katch Katikati, will transform Moore Park into a hub of fun on Friday 6 November, with four hours of free entertainment from 5pm to 9pm.

More than just a fireworks display, Spark in the Park represents an exciting addition to the Western Bay events calendar, creating a large-scale, free community celebration that is accessible to everyone. Whether families choose to pack a picnic and enjoy a relaxed evening on the grass or make a night of it with dinner from the incredible selection of food trucks, there will be something for every age and budget.

From 5pm, visitors can enjoy family games, entertainment, activities and a fantastic variety of Friday night feasts before settling in for an outdoor screening of Despicable Me 4. The evening will culminate in a professionally managed fireworks display, delivering colour, light and excitement across the night sky.

Katch Katikati says the event has been designed with a strong family focus and aims to provide a safe, welcoming environment where the community can come together and celebrate.

Communities such as Paeroa and Morrinsville have successfully delivered public fireworks events for years, with many residents supporting organised displays as an alternative to private backyard fireworks. Spark in the Park brings that same opportunity to the Western Bay, creating a central location where families can share the experience together.

The event has also received strong support from funding partners and local stakeholders who recognise the value of accessible community events that encourage connection, support local businesses and create memorable experiences for residents and visitors alike.

With free entry, great food, family entertainment, a movie under the stars and a spectacular fireworks finale, Spark in the Park is shaping up to be one of the Western Bay's must-attend community events of the year.
