OUR EVENTS

Running from 12 to 27 December, Santa’s Grotto promises to be one of the season’s must-visit attractions, bringing together local organisations, community groups, businesses, and volunteers to create a truly memorable Christmas experience for residents and visitors alike.

The festive celebrations begin with a special Opening Day on Saturday 12 December from 10am to 2pm at The Arts Junction. Families can enjoy live entertainment, market stalls, food trucks, face painting, Christmas crafts, balloon fun, outdoor games, and roving entertainers as the Christmas spirit comes alive in the heart of town.

Throughout the event, visitors can wander through an enchanting collection of festive displays created by local groups including Katikati Floral Art, Combined Churches, Western Bay Library, Katch Katikati, Katikati Open Air Art, Katikati Primary School, and The Christmas Cracker. The displays showcase the creativity and community spirit that make Katikati such a special place during the holiday season.

Of course, no Christmas celebration would be complete without a visit from Santa. Families will have the opportunity to meet Santa on selected dates throughout December, creating magical moments and festive memories for children and adults alike.

Adding even more holiday fun, the boutique Junction Theatre will host a series of affordable Christmas movies, with tickets just $10 per person, giving families another reason to make Santa’s Grotto part of their festive plans.

Katch Katikati Chairperson said the event highlights the power of community collaboration.

"Santa’s Grotto is about bringing people together and celebrating everything that makes the Christmas season special. We’re incredibly grateful to all the groups, sponsors, businesses, and volunteers who have contributed to creating this magical experience for our community."

With festive decorations, family activities, Christmas movies, and the chance to meet the man in red, Santa’s Grotto is set to deliver plenty of Christmas magic this December.
