Katikati Bike Series 2026

Katch Katikati, together with the Katikati Trails Group and Waitekohekohe, is excited to bring two cycling events to Katikati as part of National Bike Month. These events are designed to celebrate our local environment, encourage active lifestyles, and showcase the ongoing work to improve and expand trails in our region.

21 February - The first event will be a 4km and 14km, family-friendly ride through Katikati urban. This ride highlights the local pathways, already available and demonstrates safe and enjoyable routes parents can use with their children in the future. It’s about making cycling accessible and fun while encouraging families to spend more time outdoors together. Gold coin donation.

28 February - The second event takes riders into the beautiful Waitekohekohe Reserve. Tracks will be stay open to the public which are open exclusively for cycling, providing a unique opportunity to explore the reserve on two wheels. This event encourage health and wellbeing, showcases Waitekohekohe Reserve, while also giving the community a closer connection to the stunning Kaimai Mamaku ranges. Gold coin donation.

Both rides will finish with a community BBQ, creating space for people to come together, celebrate, and learn more about the Katikati Trails Group’s and Waitekohekohe vision. This includes showcasing completed trails, highlighting progress on current projects, and sharing exciting proposals for the future pathways in the pipelines.

By delivering these events during National Bike Month, we are not only fostering community interaction and promoting wellbeing, but also contributing to regional economic growth by encouraging visitors to explore Katikati and its trails. Together, these cycling events provide a fantastic opportunity to connect people with nature, highlight the work being done locally, and inspire ongoing community involvement in the development of the Katikati trail network.
